I am pasting below a summary of an email I received from Brian Mantel today...

Dear All,
RON JONES, new General Manager at the Lime Kiln, is trying to arrange a Focus Group meeting this Thursday, at 6.30 pm. The details are attached, and also pasted below in case you can't open the attachment. The Focus Groups are a Lime Kiln/DC Leisure initiative, so the SOS group have not arranged this without telling you. Ron contacted me earlier today, as word of the meeting does not seem to have spread, and he had had only two replies. I agreed to attend, and to publicise the meeting as much as possible.

Dear Centre User

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Ron Jones and I am the General Manager of Lime Kiln Leisure Centre.

With your help I would like to introduce Focus Group meetings to be held between myself and the User Groups of the centre also in attendance at the meetings will be Nick Moran the Contract Manager for DC Leisure and a representative of North Wiltshire District Council.

User Groups play an important role in ensuring that comments, views and items of mutual interest (i.e. a two way dialogue) concerning the overall operation of the Leisure Centre are aired and discussed.

The purpose of the Focus Group Meetings

  • Representatives of relevant user groups, external agencies, partners or specialist advisors may be invited to attend any Focus Group meeting that the Focus Group so decides i.e. the Focus Group can in effect decide their own composition.
  • Meetings of the Focus Groups shall not normally be open to members of the public unless members of the Focus Group specifically request that members of the public be invited to a meeting i.e. this is at the discretion of the Focus Group.
  • Verbal reports are acceptable although any details (figures, proposals etc.) should be made available in writing.

Meeting Venue:         Lime Kiln Leisure Centre (Movement Studio)

Meeting Date:                        Thursday 28th June 2007

Meeting Time:                       6.30pm

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

I would be grateful if you could confirm your attendance before Monday 25th June either via email, telephone confirmation or in writing or at reception.

I look forward to seeing you soon,

Ron Jones

Centre Manager
